Un-Stable Lane, Reviewed in Self Publishing Magazine

Un-Stable Lane written by author Julie Christine Round, designed by Chandler Book Design has been reviewed in this months edition of 'Self Publishing Magazine'.

"an attractive cover photo was well thought out, depicting all that was threatening such a tranquil setting."

THE CRITIQUE READ:

Unstable Lane is a sequel to Lane's End. The unstableness is brought about by a flash flood destroying everything in its path.

It is not the only thing that could have been destroyed when Katie Longman, tired of her dull existence and held back by a less that go-ahead husband, discovers a new group of friends and starts going out in the evenings. Set in a small caravan park, with its shop, craft centre and nearby market garden, it tells of the life of a small community nestling in the Sussex Downs, but close to the sea.

THE BOOK REVIEWER GOES ON TO SAY:

I found the first couple of chapters confusing as there were short flashbacks to the previous book, which needed more explanation, or a prologue. A cast of characters would also have helped to work out who was who. The black clouds hovering over an attractive cover photo was well thought out, depicting all that was threatening such a tranquil setting.

However, once a few chapters into the story, this was a pleasant read and I can see another sequel from Julie Round on the not too distant horizon.
